Your watch band might just save the day – particularly if it is a Paisley Pattern watch band.
Why?
Let’s face it – how often have we looked at our watch’s face and thought – ‘mate, you are boring.’
Whether you bought the watch yourself or someone bought it for you, it might be ‘nice’, but how often is ‘nice’ boring?
And you feel trapped. There is no way out. Watches cost a lot of money – well, watches that cost a lot of money do. And while some people change their watch like they change their underwear – which hopefully is daily – most of us are faithful to our watches, and generally, give them a good couple of years to see if they will grow on us.
Key Point: Watches don’t need to grow on us. They are already on us – we wear them. Why would they need to try harder than they already do?
So, while you and your watch face are stuck looking at each other’s bland faces, you being the one with the brain can ponder how you can jazz up your watch.
There are a couple of alternatives here:
1. You knit yourself a watch face cover – a small round woolen circle that covers your watch face. This does indeed look different, but it is prone to falling off. More importantly, by obscuring your watch face, you won't be able to tell what time it is – which is always crucial to us in this high-powered life arena we all find ourselves in.
2. You buy yourself a Paisley watch band to bring your watch to life. Better still, get someone else to buy you the gift of a Paisley watch band.
Key Point: Whatever you do, don’t ask the person who bought you the watch to buy you the Paisley watch band. This will offend them and they will be even more offended if you say ‘Could you please bring my dull and lifeless watch to life?’ (I know you would be unlikely to say this, but we all make mistakes, do we not?)
Please don’t take the following as a recommendation, merely as an observation. One of the benefits of cheating on your partner – apart from the additional sex – is that you are likely to receive double the amount of presents. And if you are smart (as well as being a callous cheating deceitful piece of work), you will have the opportunity to obtain a new watch and a new watch band.
It is up to you whom you ask to buy you the watch, but in my experience, the fellow cheater will generally pay more as they are still at the ‘trying to impress’ stage.
If you go for this particular option, you could easily find an opportunity to wear a watch on both arms. I would not recommend this. It looks like you are showing off – and nobody likes a show-off.
The alternative is to sell your existing watch – complete with watch band – and then use the proceeds to further the development of your affair – perhaps you might even reciprocate and buy your fellow cheater a gift. This could be dangerous as they might start to think you genuinely have feelings for them.
If you are one of these people who has never cheated – either because you have high moral standards or have never had the opportunity – then much of the preceding paragraphs will not apply to you. (I should really have put an ‘If you don’t cheat, are offended by cheating, or simply never had the opportunity to cheat, then ignore the next section and immediately move to the ‘Which Paisley Watch Band Do I Go For?’ section) But, I figured you would probably read it anyway – so, why bother?
Which Paisley Watch Band Do I Go For?
That’s up to you. I can’t do everything for you! Your taste might be different from mine. I can only point you in the right direction – to give you options. Ultimately, you make the decision. Sometimes you will be right and be rewarded with lovely comments about your Paisley watch band.
Other times, especially if you have chosen non-Paisley, the comments might be less favourable – or even worse, you might not get any comments.
You need to be your own person. I am no self-help coach (despite being repeatedly asked to be by a person I paid to ask me), so you need to decide by yourself.
The good news is that you cannot go wrong – all Paisley watch bands are beautiful. Your biggest challenge will therefore be deciding on which one to buy. I am no self-help coach (oh, I already told you that), but in this situation, I would simply buy more than one Paisley watch band.
If inclined, you could even buy yourself one for every day of the week (which, incidentally is 7), or even one for every day of the month (which there is a rhyme for, so look it up in Google). If you do this, you will hopefully be changing your watch bands as often as your underwear – which I make no apologies for repeating, should be at least once a day.
Which Type Of Watch Face To Wear With Your Paisley Watch Band?
Some Paisley watch bands come in multiple colours. Paisley, in itself, is normally very colourful. This normally makes it perfect for accessorising against plain colours. So, if your Paisley watch band has different colours in it – this, with the intricacy of the Paisley Pattern design makes it more suitable to be worn with a plain watch face.
But, where your Paisley watch band comes in one colour, and the Paisleyness comes solely from its featured Paisley swirl, this allows you to be a little more creative and daring with the watch face.
One final Just Paisley thought on matching watch band to watch face? Always go with Paisley rule number one – don’t match Paisley with Paisley. Rule number two? Go all in on Paisley red bandana!
Certain things look right in Paisley – the Paisley tie, the Paisley shirt, the Paisley coaster set, the magnetic Paisley dishwasher cover, and the Paisley iPhone case. I think there is a new kid on the block – the Paisley watch band.
